PolyDigi Announces Partnership with 01 Communique to Develop Quantum-Safe Automotive Mobile Keyless Solution
Edinburgh, Scotland – PolyDigi announces its partnership and collaboration with 01 Communique (Toronto, Canada) to develop a secure Automotive Mobile Keyless solution. Making use of PolyDigi’s innovative biometric ActiFID™ technology and 01 Communique’s IronCAP™ Quantum safe cryptographic technology, the secure Automotive Mobile Keyless solution will assist the Automotive Industry’s journey toward achieving the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals along with the U.K. and Canada’s net zero target.
A true keyless solution directly reduces the use of plastic and CO2 production. By 2020, approximately 1.42 billion cars peppered the globe; as a result, roughly 2.84 billion car key fobs were issued. Global car production peaked in 2018 with nearly 97 million new cars hitting the streets. Each key fob contains a combination of approximately 50 grams of plastic and metal parts. Replacing one key fob for each new car would reduce plastic production by 2,425 tonnes annually.
PolyDigi is a world-class identity authentication start-up that is engaged with automotive manufacturers about ActiFID™. Using the unique impression of the bottom of a clenched fist to authenticate and verify user identity, ActiFID is a patent-pending contactless biometric authentication solution designed specifically for the automotive industry.
PolyDigi is excited to announce its collaboration with 01 Communique and integration with IronCAP™ to safeguard identity data under the quantum safe paradigm. Based in Toronto, Canada, 01 Communique Laboratory Inc. is one of the first-to-market, enterprise level cybersecurity providers for the quantum computing era.
The launch of the Automotive Mobile Keyless solution is expected in to occur in Q4 2021.
“This is an exciting joint project for the Automotive industry. We are thrilled to work with one of the very first quantum-safe cryptographic solution providers to create a unique new product. Cars today can now be protected against current cyber-threats as well as the threats of tomorrow with the advent of quantum computers” said Monika Ohashi, the Co-founder and the CIO of PolyDigi. Andrew Cheung, President and CEO of 01 Communique, commented, “We are excited to collaborate with PolyDigi to develop this unique, first of its kind product for the automotive industry. We believe cars in the future will be interconnected and work like a computer; therefore, they MUST be quantum-safe. IronCAP™ is the best-in-class cryptography solution that can protect customers data today and in the fast-approaching quantum computing era.”
